Samsung is set to introduce a major health-focused feature for its Galaxy Watches: the ability to detect Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction (LVSD), a serious cardiovascular condition responsible for about 50% of heart failure cases.

In a significant leap forward for wearable technology, Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Watches will feature a groundbreaking health monitoring tool. The integration of LVSD detection allows users to monitor a critical aspect of their cardiovascular health in real-time, potentially identifying risks before symptoms appear.

Developed in collaboration with Korean firm Medical AI, this feature has already been implemented in over 100 hospitals across Korea, benefiting more than 120,000 patients monthly. By leveraging photoplethysmography (PPG) sensors, the watch can assess heart function and provide early warnings, empowering users to take proactive steps in managing their health.

This development underscores the growing role of wearable devices in healthcare, shifting from fitness tracking to comprehensive health monitoring. As technology continues to evolve, the potential for wearables to detect and manage various health conditions becomes increasingly promising, heralding a new era of personalized medicine.
